Berwang stands for pure hiking pleasure in the Tyrolean mountains: sunny high plateau, panoramic trails and rustic alpine pastures - ideal for leisurely hikers, families and mountain enthusiasts. From leisurely alpine trails to more challenging mountain tours, you will find a wide selection of routes, magnificent panoramas and numerous places to stop for refreshments around Berwang in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.

Why hiking in Berwang?
The location on a sunny plateau opens up views of the surrounding peaks. The network of trails offers short walks, family-friendly circular routes and longer day tours. If you want to get to higher altitudes faster, use the region's mountain lifts and start your hike above the tree line - with magnificent views.

For families and connoisseurs
Easy circular trails, flower-filled alpine pastures and relaxed refreshment stops make Berwang ideal for a family holiday. Many paths run without major differences in altitude and offer play and nature experiences along the way, such as watercourses, viewing benches or themed sections. Perfect for enjoying summer in the mountains at a leisurely pace.

For summiteers
Ambitious hikers can look forward to longer panoramic and mountain tours with panoramic ridges and considerable metres in altitude. Those who start early and keep an eye on the mountain weather will be rewarded with impressive views across the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena.

Take the mountain railways to the heights
The region's mountain lifts shorten the ascent and open up a variety of high-altitude trails. This leaves more time for panoramic views, photo stops and an extended stop at a mountain hut.

Practical tips
Start early, take enough water and snacks with you, make sure you wear sturdy shoes and check the weather forecast. In the high season, it is worth making a reservation at popular huts. Plan your tour length, altitude metres and fitness level realistically.
